Yuz Museum Scenography
Shanghai • 2026

At the Yuz Museum in Shanghai, VG.TAL3Design designed a monumental plant installation: a circular landscape 25 metres in diameter and 3.5 metres high, entirely clad in preserved forest moss. The challenge was to cover a vast surface within a contemporary art museum while guaranteeing a flawless finish and perfect long-term stability, with no irrigation or horticultural lighting whatsoever. Our workshop deployed a modular system of naturalised moss panels, assembled to follow the continuous curve of the ring and deliver a uniform velvety texture across the full circumference. The preserved moss, treated to retain its softness and natural colour, needs neither water nor maintenance and remains intact for years. The result: an immersive green setting that converses with the artworks and plunges visitors into a sculptural nature. This project demonstrates VG.TAL3Design's ability to design large-scale plant scenography for museums and cultural institutions, in Shanghai and around the world.
