Senior Residence Green Wall

Nantes • 2022

For a senior residence in Nantes, we designed a living green wall conceived as a landmark of nature at the heart of a shared living space. The constraint was to bring wellbeing to residents and staff in a busy common area, while ensuring optimal longevity and controlled maintenance. Our solution relies on a hydroponic living wall with integrated automatic irrigation, which ensures healthy growth and reduces interventions. The composition brings together indoor plants with dense, evergreen foliage, chosen for their soothing effect and their ability to structure the space. Standing 2.5 metres high and 5 metres long, this green wall improves acoustic comfort, purifies the ambient air and creates a point of contemplation for residents. Beyond its aesthetics, it contributes to biophilic design and fosters a connection with the living world. In Nantes, this custom plant scenography turns a common area into a warm, natural space that supports everyday wellbeing.
