Educational Green Wall

Paris • 2023

In a Paris venue with an educational mission, we deployed a set of three living green walls designed as a tool to raise awareness of nature in the city. The constraint was to give rhythm to a large indoor volume with several coherent compositions, while making it easy for the public to observe the plants. Each living wall is built on three connected modules and a hydroponic system with automatic irrigation that keeps maintenance to a minimum. The three sets bring together nearly 700 plants of tropical origin, selected for the diversity of their foliage and their ability to thrive indoors. Each measuring 3 metres long by 2.2 metres high, these green walls structure the space, improve acoustic comfort and contribute to genuine biophilic design. In Paris, this plant scenography turns a place of learning into a living space, where every visitor discovers the richness of the plant world and enjoys healthier indoor air and a soothing atmosphere day after day.
