Greenwood Green Wall

Madrid • 2022

In Madrid, Greenwood is a plant wall artwork conceived as an artistic fusion inspired by the world's iconic forests. From the majestic Amazon to the magical forest of Brocéliande, each panel captures the essence of a natural landscape. The challenge was to tell this forest diversity on a coherent wall format, with no maintenance for the venue. We answered with a composition of modular panels of preserved plants, natural and maintenance-free, that keep their suppleness and colour without water or light. Ball mosses, flat mosses, lichens and preserved foliage combine to evoke the depth and relief of the undergrowth. Assembled together, the panels form a narrative plant artwork that invites contemplation and travel. This plant scenography dresses the wall like a living fresco frozen in time. In Madrid, Greenwood illustrates the full potential of the custom preserved green wall as a biophilic work of art, able to turn an interior space into a soothing, lasting forest immersion.
