Bathroom Botanical Band

Lyon • 2024

In Lyon, VG.TAL3Design designed a band-shaped green wall for the bathroom of a private villa, incorporating a set of maintenance-free preserved plants. The challenge: to bring a natural, lasting plant presence into a warm, humid wet room, where a living plant would be fragile, while working with the constraints of an intimate space. Our workshop created a plant band that underlines the room's architecture, composed of preserved mosses and foliage with soft textures. To mark the space, a natural preserved niwaki was added at floor level, bringing a sculptural touch and elegant verticality. Being preserved, these plants need no water, light or pruning and keep their vibrancy for years with no maintenance at all, ideal for a bathroom. This project illustrates VG.TAL3Design's expertise in bespoke green walls and preserved specimens for bathrooms, spas and exceptional residential interiors, in Lyon and across France.
